Timothee Chalamet reunites with Call Me By Your Name director Luca Guadagnino in a new exciting romantic horror movie premiering November 18th! Here is everything you need to know about Bones and All!
Powerful Production
The new romantic horror film Bones and All from Italian director Luca Guadagnino, whose previous works include Call Me By Your Name, A Bigger Splash, and the outstanding 2018 remake of Suspiria. Based on Camille DeAngelis’ best-selling novel, this film stars Taylor Russell and Timothée Chalamet as a cannibalistic couple who travel across America in the late 1980s. Following Suspiria, Guadagnino’s second horror film, Bones and All is written by the same screenwriter, David Kajganich. The film is Timothee Chalamet’s second collaboration with Guadagnino and his first film as a producer. A powerful cast is also anticipated to be seen on screen including André Holland, Chloë Sevigny, and Mark Rylance.

Plot and Storyline
The film follows a story of first love between Maren (Russell), a young woman learning to survive on society’s margins, and Lee (Chalamet), an intense and disillusioned drifter; a liberating road odyssey of two young people coming into their own, searching for identity and chasing beauty in a dangerous world that cannot abide who they are. Guadagnino keeps the era subtle. This version of the ’80s is much dustier, Midwestern than neon nostalgia, with a desaturated palette indicative of small-town, backroad Americana. It adds texture to this soft-spoken yet violent world, making it feel alive and rich. The narrative is anchored by a love story, but it emphasizes the difficulties of survival.

Promos and Anticipation
The anticipation is real! Bones and All made its worldwide premiere at the Venice Film Festival earlier this year. According to Variety, the Milan red carpet event was canceled because there were too many people present! While the screening of Luca Guadagnino’s film went ahead as planned, it was at a very limited capacity. Members of the press were turned away, photos of those in attendance were taken inside, and Chalamet did not do any press. Over on social media, fans are also making bold statements!
