Jonathan Micheal Majors was born in Lompoc, California, on September 7, 1989. Majors grew up traveling frequently because his father was in the Air Force. He eventually attended Yale School of Drama and received his MFA in acting.

Jonathan had his first major on screen role, starring in the ABC miniseries When We Rise. Majors played young Ken Jones, a former United States Navy veteran and eventually gay rights activist.

Many say the first film to put Jonathan Majors on the map was an independent film titled The Last Black Man in San Francisco. The movie follows A young man and his friend trying to reclaim the home his grandfather built in San Francisco amidst the rapidly changing city.
