Jenna Ortega was born on September 27, 2002, in Coachella Valley, California. Her father is of Mexican American descent and her mother is of Mexican and Puerto Rican ancestry. On her social media accounts, Jenna establishes herself as an activist for women’s rights and the LGBTQ community. Jenna is also a Neutrogena ambassador, who was warmly welcomed by Neutragena spokesperson Jennifer Garner.

Jenna emerged into the industry at a young age. At just twelve years old, she became a series regular as Young Jane on The CW’s Jane the Virgin. Like many child stars, Jenna also had her Disney Channel moment. She starred as Harley Diaz in the Disney series Stuck In The Middle.
Jenna came across many radars in her role as Ellie on the Netflix thriller series You. Ellie was a pivotal role in season two, and Ortega’s performance is easily memorable. Next, Jenna appeared in two Netflix films, The Babysitter: Killer Queen and Yes Day.

Jenna’s breakout film role was in The Fallout, a film chronicling the aftermath of school shooting survivors. Actress and dancer Maddie Ziegler starred alongside Ortega in the critically acclaimed film.
This year, Jenna became a familiar face in the horror film world. She starred in Studio 666 and A24’s X. Ortega also played Tara Carpenter in the slasher-blockbuster feature Scream 5, which won her the MTV Movie Award for “Most Frightened Performance.”
