On August 3, A24 released the trailer for their first ever musical Dicks: The Musical, directed by Borat’s Larry Charles. Based on the trailer alone audience members can expect hit songs, big dance numbers, and lots of jokes! Here is everything we know about the movie so far!
The Cast
The film features a star-studded cast with some unexpected appearances. The Opposition’s Josh Sharp and Aaron Jackson will play the lead roles of long lost twin brothers Craig and Trevor. Megan Thee Stallion is making her acting debut as their boss alongside Emmy-winning actress Megan Mullally and Broadway legend Nathan Lane as the twins’ parents. Saturday Night Live alum Bowen Yang will also make an appearance as God.

The Plot
The movie follows two rival businessmen, Craig and Trevor, as they discover they are long lost twins. In a plot reminiscent of The Parent Trap, they switch places with one another and trick their parents into reuniting in hopes of being a family. Dicks: The Musical is an adaptation of Jackson and Sharp’s off-Broadway show titled F*cking Identical Twins.

Release Date
The film is set to have its theatrical release on September 29, 2023, after it debuts at the Midnight Madness event of The Toronto International Film Festival. It is important to note that if SAG has not come to an agreement regarding fair wages, it is not likely the cast will do a press tour of any kind for the film.
