Disney: What To Expect This August

Everyone’s favorite mouse has some big plans for this August! Here’s what to expect from Disney+, Disney Parks, and D23 next month!

Whether you are searching for a new show, or a returning favorite, Disney+’s August lineup is sure to fill your cup! Here are some of the exciting new titles to look forward to releasing in August 2024! 

Are You Sure?!

Are You Sure?! is an eight-part series, filmed in 2023 before BTS sensations Jimin and Jung Kook enlisted in the South Korean military. The show follows as the pair travels to New York state; Jeju Island, South Korea; and Sapporo, Japan. Are You Sure?! is reported to give a deeper look into Jimin and Jung Kook’s undeniable chemistry and tight-knit friendship as they bond over a variety of unforgettable moments throughout the trip! Are You Sure?! is set to air August 8 through September 19! 

The Tyrant

Disney is releasing a K-Drama and we are beyond excited! The Tyrant unfolds as the South Korean government’s top-secret bio-tech is stolen and exposed by the U.S. These American representatives demand all samples be handed over and the project be shut down. However, when these samples are stolen by a third party agency, both countries must join forces to retrieve the samples and prevent this precarious new technology from falling into the wrong hands! The Tyrant premieres on August 14 exclusively on Disney+ and Hulu in the United States!

Apart from new titles, some of our favorite shows are coming back for another season and we can not be more excited! Titles such as Only Murders in the Building, Bunk’d, and Kiff are all coming out with new seasons this August! Which are you most excited for? 

Park Updates

If you are a Walt Disney World or Disneyland fiend, then you should head on over to the parks this August! Due to the heat and time of year, there are predicted to be below average crowd sizes, along with below average prices!

Recently beginning its run was Tiana’s Bayou Adventure and fans are loving every second of this Princess and The Frog themed remodel of Splash Mountain! With the heat index rising, taking a plunge down Tiana’s Bayou Adventure might just be what you need on a hot summer’s day!

Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party debuts August 9th in the parks and will decorate Main Street with Disney Halloween decorations and all the spooky-season merchandise you could ever want!

On August 29, Epcot premieres its iconic International Food & Wine Festival. This festival harbors cultural and global marketplaces, live music, scavenger hunts, and much more! Don’t miss out on any Disney food-lovers dream and head to Walt Disney World’s Epcot this August! 

Here are some of the scheduled refurbishment and ride closures at Walt Disney World that will be beginning or continuing through August: 

• Test Track (Epcot) June 17 – TBD/Not Announced
• Peter Pan’s Flight (Magic Kingdom) July 8 – August 21
• Jungle Cruise (Magic Kingdom) August 26 – Predicted October

D23 2024 Convention

If you haven’t heard of D23 then you are missing out on the biggest announcements coming from our favorite mouse! D23 is a bi-annual conference that celebrates Disney and showcases the company’s storytelling and innovation! This ultimate Disney fan event will be held this year on August 9th through the 11th in Anaheim, California. We have Saturday, August 10th, 2024 at 7PM on our calendars, as that’s the Disney Experiences Showcase at Honda Center! This panel is where major park expansion plans and renovations are predicted to be announced!
