Deadpool & Wolverine: Everything We Know

Disney & Marvel’s Deadpool & Wolverine have dropped their final trailer before the film launches. Join us as we cover everything we’ve learned up to now!

Deadpool & Wolverine is the most anticipated movie of the summer and there has been so much information released surrounding it! Join us as we dive into the nitty gritty plot, cameos, and promotions before watching the film!

The Plot

Deadpool & Wolverine has a pretty informative synopsis that gives us a good idea of where the movie will take us: “Marvel Studios presents their most significant mistake to date – Deadpool & Wolverine. A listless Wade Wilson toils away in civilian life. His days as the morally flexible mercenary, Deadpool, behind him. When his homeworld faces an existential threat, Wade must reluctantly suit-up again with an even more reluctantlier… reluctanter? Reluctantest? He must convince a reluctant Wolverine to – Fuck. Synopses are so fucking stupid.”

Deadpool & Wolverine is best described by writer Rhett Reese, calling Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds) a “fish-out-of-water” in his introduction to the MCU. An otherwise sane universe gains a new lunatic inhabitant that is tasked with stopping Cassandra Nova, the evil twin sister of the X-Men’s Professor Charles Xavier. Deadpool will not be alone in this mission, with Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) accompanying him. Deadpool & Wolverine is a multiverse story, with a large portion of the film taking place in The Void. If you’re a fan of Loki, you already know that The Void is the place at the end of time, where TVA dumps timelines that have been pruned to be consumed by Alioth. In The Void, Deadpool has some convincing to do to get Wolverine to join him, Time Variance Authority agent Paradox (Matthew Macfadyen, Succession’s Tom) tells Deadpool that the Wolverine variant “let down his entire world.” Basically, multiversal, fourth-wall-breaking hijinks ensue as a brutally serious anti hero and brutally sarcastic anti hero get tasked to save the world

The Cast and Characters

Expect cameos, in Deadpool & Wolverine, expect tons of them. In the final trailer, they announced that Dafne Keen will return as X-23, the biological daughter of Wolverine!

We also saw Lady Deadpool will be making an appearance in Deadpool & Wolverine! Who the face behind the mask will be is unknown to us, we predict that it’s actually just going to be Ryan Reynolds and a wig. Other characters to expect are Deadpool’s crew: Vanessa Carlysle (Morena Baccarin), Blind Al (Leslie Uggams), Dopinder (Karan Soni), Colossus (Stefan Kapičić), Shatterstar (Lewis Tan),Negasonic Teenage Warhead (Brianna Hildebrand), and the strongest of all, Peter (Rob delaney). We also know that, Sabretooth (Tyler Mane), and Pyro (Aaron Stanford) will be making appearances in Deadpool & Wolverine as well.

Last but surely not least, the most important character reveal of all is Dogpool (Peggy). Arguably the most influential, plot-pushing character in the entire film

Promotions and Collaborations

Deadpool & Wolverine has not been shy about the release of their movie, releasing promo after promo, after promo of anything and everything, whether it be condiments or controllers.

Yes, those are cheeks on the back of that controller and yes, we know it’s insane. With Deadpool’s constant breaking of the fourth wall, it’s easy to put him anywhere and say “do whatever you’d like.” For instance, putting Deadpool & Wolverine into a studio and saying, “start podcasting.”

If a recording studio wasn’t outlandish enough, you can also find them in K-Pop group Stray Kids’ music video!

When Can You Watch It?

Deadpool & Wolverine hit the big screens on July 26! If you want to stream the film however, you’ll need a Disney+ subscription and patience as it won’t be released on the site until a few months later. However, if you can, make sure to go see it in theaters, the action is sure to impress on the big screen, and  just look at this popcorn bucket!

Words can’t begin to describe how excited we are for Deadpool & Wolverine to screen. If you’re on the fence about watching this movie, do yourself a huge favor, and buy yourself a ticket, we know we will.
