‘Dancing with the Stars’ Finale Review!

Dancing with the Stars has finally reached the end of its 30th season! Here are our thoughts on the final night of dances and eliminations!

**Spoilers**

Dancing with the Stars Season 30 has finally come to an end after one shock of a “Finale”. We entered this final night of competition with 4 couples: Cody Rigsby & Cheryl Burke, Amanda Kloots & Alan Bersten, Iman Shumpert & Daniella Karagach, and JoJo Siwa & Jenna Johnson. After each pair performed a “Fusion Dance” and a “Freestyle”, the winner of the Mirrorball Trophy was announced!

Coming in fourth place was Amanda & Alan, which came as a shock to many fans, as Amanda had been performing nearly perfect routines all season! Following in third place were Cody & Cheryl, who came in with the lowest scores of the night. It was ultimately between JoJo Siwa and Iman Shumpert for the Mirrorball, both of whom would’ve made DWTS history with their win… JoJo as part of the first same-sex couple to win the competition, and Iman as the first NBA player to win the Mirrorball.

It was announced on Monday night that the winners of Season 30 of Dancing with the Stars are Iman Shumpert & Daniella Karagach!

Can you say a surprise ending? Even host Tyra Banks paused to let out an “Oh my god!” before revealing the winner to the audience. In honor of Iman’s win, we will be revisiting some of our favorite dances from this couple throughout Season 30

Starting off with his Freestyle from this week’s “Finale”, Iman and Daniella performed to “Lose Control / Bounce” by Missy Elliott ft. Ciara & Fat Man Scoop / DJ Clent. This dance was the most excited and invested we’ve seen Iman, and we can tell this is a style he was comfortable performing. This was arguably the best “Freestyle” of the night as the judges seemed thrilled with the unique and electric performance. This was by far the best way to end his time on DWTS!

Of course, we can’t forget where it all started, and where we first fell in love with Iman… on Week 1! This Jive to Outkast’s “Hey Ya!” was our very first “Deserved Better Scores” superlative after Len gave him a 4 for the routine. The footwork and energy in this routine was foreshadowing a lot more exciting choreography from Daniella, which we got to explore throughout the season!

Now, this Contemporary for “Horror Night” was the talk of the town this season, so of course, we need to include it in Iman’s highlights! The choreography here was insane, the couple really used their massive height difference to their advantage this week and it paid off! Many celebrities and entertainment outlets worshipped this couple for their spooky performance, and we’re one of them! This was a strong Contemporary that was one of the best performances from the season by far!

And we can’t skip “Rhythm Nation”! This iconic number was completely nailed by Iman and Daniella during “Janet Jackson Night”! If there’s one thing we’ve noticed throughout the season it’s that Iman excels at upbeat routines with lots of footwork, and this was no exception! This routine truly stood out among the rest during “Janet Jackson Week”.

Finishing off our favorite dances from Iman and Daniella is this Argentine Tango from “Disney Week: Villains Night”. The duo danced to “Arabian Nights” from Aladdin, and once again used their height difference to their advantage! Shumpert kept his partner in the air, lifting her so effortlessly which then turned into a fantastic and well-performed Argentine Tango routine. This was another unique performance that many fans will remember years later as one of their favorites!

Well, there you have it! Dancing with the Stars Season 30 is officially over, and although there were so many amazing couples that deserved that Mirrorball, we are happy to see Iman and Daniella take it home. This couple has amazed us and kept us invested since Week 1, and we couldn’t be more excited for them as they made DWTS history! This season also consisted of our first-ever same-sex couple in the competition, and we couldn’t be prouder of the work JoJo Siwa and her partner Jenna Johnson did to help change the nature of the show and help others feel comfortable being who they are. This season was a whirlwind from start to finish, and we can’t wait to see next year’s lineup! Congrats to Iman and Daniella on their big win!
