Cooper Friedman talks all about his new recurring role on FOX’s 9-1-1: Lone Star, and the two A-list actors he would love to work with one day!
From portraying the lovable character Dewey on Girl Meets World to Lucas on the hit series Shameless, Cooper Friedman is proving he’s a force to be reckoned with in the entertainment industry.
Soon fans will be able to see Cooper on their TV screens once again, this time on the hit FOX series 9-1-1: Lone Star. His character’s name is Abe and he is a young boy who loves to play hockey but must deal with his recurring asthma. Cooper talked with AfterBuzz TV about his new recurring role, and what he has planned next.

“It was a lot of fun. It was probably one of my favorite jobs I have ever done.” Explained Friedman on what it was like to work on the show. “My character is very similar to me. He is a very open kid, not shy at all, and loves to hang out with people. The whole episode is me wanting to hang out with my friends, and go play hockey with them.”
9-1-1: Lone Star stars Rob Lowe, a firefighter who moves to Austin Texas with his son. He must balance the duties of saving those who need help and solving his own problems. Cooper said he loved working with Lowe and the rest of the cast.

“They were amazing, they definitely helped me do some of the harder scenes that were more mental or emotional. They helped me out a lot and they were just really great to work with.” Said Friedman.
At only 13-years-old Cooper has worked with many actors, but there are two he hopes to work with one day.
“I would love to work with Robert Downey Jr. I love everything about Marvel, and I think he’s a great actor overall. I would also love to work with Jim Carey one day. When I do comedic gigs I always think about how he would portray the role. I love comedy it’s my favorite aspect of acting, and I just think he’s one of the greatest comedians of our time.” Explained Freidman
9-1-1: Lone Star isn’t the only project Friedman has in store, because he’s been busy making a movie that premieres soon.
“I’ve been doing a lot of voice acting gigs, I also have a movie coming out that’s called Small Town Wisconsin. It’s been in the works for many years and it will finally be released at film festivals within the next few months.”
Friedman also has a message of hope for many people who are trying to get into the acting business.
“For the people who are trying to get into acting don’t think about it as a job think about it as a hobby. Always have fun with everything you’re doing, and know that one day you’re going to make it and your dreams will come true.” Explained Friedman.
Cooper makes his debut during the season 3 premiere of 9-1-1: Lone Star on January 3, 2022, on FOX.
