Teigen talks about what it was like going through her miscarraige and thanks everyone for the countless amount of support and love she has received.
Chrissy Teigen has spent the last month off social media, processing the loss of her third child, Jack Legend. At only 20 weeks pregnant Chrissy had to sadly deliver her second son, after over a month of uncontrollable bleeding, bed rest, and countless blood transfusions.
She wrote an article expressing her thoughts on what she went through and the response that she has received from friends, celebrities, fans, and other women who have gone through miscarriages.
She started the article by thanking everyone for their messages, notes, and countless flowers. Chrissy wrote, “it feels right to begin with a thank you.”
People who messaged with “you probably won’t read this, but…” or “you don’t have to respond to this, but…” were some of the best parts of the letters as she felt overwhelmed at first, and thought she had to respond to everyone.
The honesty Chrissy shared about what it was like to deliver when everyone else on the labor and delivery floor was so happy. “People cheered and laughed right outside our door, understandably for a new life born and celebrated. You kind of wonder how anyone is thinking about anyone but you.”
Her doctors classified it as partial placenta abruption and she was trying to make it to a “safer” zone of 28 weeks. In all honesty, she shared that she only saw the positives of the information her doctors were telling her all the way up until the end.
“Silently twisting their negative words into positives, thinking that everything might still turn out okay,” says Chrissy.
The photos that were shared on September 30 when she announced her miscarriage were not easy for John to take as she went through this experience.
“I had asked my mom and John to take pictures, no matter how uncomfortable it was. He hated it. I could tell. It didn’t make sense to him at the time. But I knew I needed to know of this moment forever.”
She went on to explain that the photos she shared are for people who have also gone through miscarriages, those curious about it, and those who need them.
Chrissy says that her heart feels full of love as she will always remember and carry her son, Jack with her. His ashes will be placed in the soil of a tree that they bought with his room in mind at their new home.
