The classic teen drama-filled show ran from the early 2000s had us all at the edge of our seats, let’s see what the iconic cast is up to now!
Ben Mackenzie – “Ryan Atwood”
Mackenzie played the bad-boy heartthrob of the OC era! He is now 44 years old, married, and has two children. He stayed pretty active during the 2010s most notably playing James Gordon in the hit show Gotham from 2014-2019. He was most recently in the 2022 film on Amazon Prime Video, I Want You Back. But most recently has been focusing on family posting adorable pictures of himself and his two children as well as being very active on Twitter using that platform to talk about Bitcoin & Cryptocurrency.
Mischa Barton – “Marissa Cooper”
Barton was known as “It Girl” on The OC, who had the perfect life until tragedies occurred. She appeared in the first season of The Hills: New Beginnings. However, It seems her acting career has taken a back seat lately with her last film being Spree in 2020. While we weren’t able to find a ton on what our favorite bad girl has been up to recently but we are glued to our social media waiting for an update.
Bilson played Cooper’s best friend for life who could pretty much do whatever she wanted, whenever! Bilson is now 41 years old and has a daughter. She was featured on the Call Her Daddy Postcast with Alex Cooper in August. Bilson also has her own podcast Welcome to the OC, Bitches! where she posts frequently. She is also very active on Instagram sharing her life. She kept her acting career going through the 2010s taking on the role of Dr. Zoe Hart in Hart of Dixie and making recurring appearances on hit TV shows like Nashville, How I Met Your Mother, and Drunk History. Her last acting gig was in 2019. We can’t wait to see what else Bilson has in store for us next!
Brody was the ultimate NJB (nice Jewish boy), back in the day and always had a joke to crack. He is now 42 years old and married to former Gossip Girl star, Leighton Meester and the two have a daughter together. Brody has been active in both television and film over the years most recently doing a voiceover for the 2022 Netflix film My Father’s Daughter. He also has a couple of projects coming up we can look forward to including the highly anticipated Shazam! Fury of the Gods!
Melinda Clarke – “Julie Cooper”
Clarke played Marissa Cooper’s mother who was obsessed with living a lavish life at any cost, literally. She is now 53 years old and is married with a daughter. She continued her acting career making appearances on hit shows like Entourage, Gotham, and The Vampire Diaries, but her last credit was in 2018. Clarke also works on the podcast Welcome to the OC, Bitches with former castmate Rachel Bilson. We love that Clarke works closely with Bilson still in 2022. The podcast covers a range of topics and we are eager to see what is next!
Peter Gallagher – “Sandy Cohen”
Gallagher, who was already a well-established actor when he joined The OC, portrayed Seth Cohen’s father and Kirsten Cohen’s husband who was always eager to do the right thing, even if that meant letting a stranger live with them. He is now 67 years old and still gracing our screens most recently in TV shows such as Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist, Grey’s Anatomy, and Grace and Frankie. He’s also in the new show Reboot which is currently airing on Hulu.
Kelly Rowan – “Kirsten Cohen”
Rowan played a hard-working mother who was still under the supervision of her father, running his business and eagerly trying to impress him. Rowan gave birth to a daughter in 2008 and is now 56 years old. Rowan appeared in a few things after The OC ended landing a part on Perception and making an appearance on the hit show Castle. Her last acting credit was in 2016 and has since been focused on her personal life and will hopefully make it back to our screens soon!
