The Challenge champ talked with MTV’s The Challenge Weekly about her thoughts on the final, an idea she has for another Fresh Meat season, and her journey to recovery after discovering a tumor growing in her uterus.

The Battle of The Bloodlines winner made it far in the game, and although she did not make it to the final, Cara Maria Sorbello says she was glad she did not have to compete in those final stages of the game.

“As everybody knows, I’m not a huge fan of swimming challenges, so I’m pretty thankful I did not have to do it, to be honest with you… It’s tough because this final boiled down basically to popularity votes and swimming, and at the end of the day I don’t think a checkpoint made or broke anyone, it just came down to whether you are a good swimmer and how many friends you have in the game. As a fan watching, it was not my favorite final.”

Cara Maria Sorbello made her debut on The Challenge: Fresh Meat ll in 2010. Since then, there hasn’t been a Fresh Meat season where unknown players not related to the Challengers come to compete. Cara Maria Sorbello says she has an idea for another Fresh Meat season with a twist that fans would enjoy.

“I think the fans would love a Fresh Meat Season, but my idea was to get a group of OG’s,  Road Rules style. Have us go to different cities and they could do little competitions there. It’s almost like The Voice where you get a background of the person before they compete, so people have an idea of these players and their journey…. You can see how they are on camera, and if they are worth bringing on to the show …from there, you get a group of contestants who come and do a Fresh Meat season, and then they’re paired with OG’s.”

A few years ago, Cara Maria Sorbello noticed she was having some health issues. She would later find out there was a noncancerous tumor growing in her uterus.

“I knew there was something not right with me and it was after season 32. I was like, what is going on, why is my lower stomach so big, I’m fit, I eat healthy, why is my stomach sticking out like this? I had some other problems too, I constantly had to pee, and I had a huge amount of pressure, but I wasn’t experiencing the blood loss that a lot of women get. I went in to get my IUD checked, and they couldn’t find the strings, and thankfully they sent me to get an ultrasound, and on the ultrasound, the woman asked if I’d ever heard of fibroids… I suggest to all women, if you feel something is not right, get a damn ultrasound and check to make sure you don’t have fibroids, and if you do get them, take care of them before they become a problem.”

Since then, Cara Maria Sorbello underwent a procedure where she now says her uterus is saved and she is no longer experiencing symptoms. The Challenge vet is in a happy place in her life, and thanks her fans for all the support.

“I don’t take for granted the blessings I’ve been given. I know anybody would kill to be on The Challenge. Being able to do The Challenge is the coolest, most rare experience and blessing that someone could have, and so many people wish they could do what we do. As terrified as I am of everything, and anxious about competition, I am beyond grateful for the experiences  I’ve had,  and I wouldn’t even be able to do what I do if the fans didn’t support.
