Bachelor Biography
Nina Bartula made her Bachelor Nation debut in 2019 as a contestant on Colton Underwood’s season of The Bachelor. Bartula, a sales account manager from North Carolina, made it three weeks on the show before being sent home.
Bartula didn’t get much air time on the show, which made fans upset after the show released a deleted clip of her pre-taped introduction, revealing her harrowing backstory of growing up in Croatia and escaping war with her family.
“I remember how much my mom tried to shield me from everything that was going on because twice my mom was this close from being killed by a bullet that went right by her head,” she recalled. “So she said, ‘I have to get out of this country with my daughter, otherwise one of us is gonna die.’ My dad did not come with us. He wanted to stay there and fight for his country.”
“My mom was such an amazing mother and father, that no matter how many times I’ve been down or I have been hurt in the past, it’s not going to stop me from finding what I want.”
When the show released the clip on Twitter, fans were upset she didn’t get more screen time.
“Your production team has failed its viewers badly. THESE are the stories you should be airing,” one fan wrote. “How is this not your star? Smh.”
After leaving The Bachelor, Bartula was flown out as a potential contestant for Bachelor in Paradise along with two additional contestants. However, she was never brought on the show.
Where is she now?
