Bachelor Biography

Dylan Barbour joined Bachelor Nation in 2019 as a contestant on Hannah Brown’s season of The Bachelorette. Barbour, a tech entrepreneur from San Diego, was sent home by Brown in the sixth week of the show.

Though Barbour is only a year into his time as a Bachelor alum, he’s made a lasting impression as a standout fan favorite, which he solidified on the sixth season of Bachelor in Paradise.

Barbour quickly fell for Hannah Godwin from Colton Underwood’s season of The Bachelor while in Paradise. Though Godwin was also briefly involved with Blake Horstmann and Wills Reid during the season, she and Barbour ultimately got engaged at the end of the show.

“When I met you, I knew my life was not gonna be the same,” he told Godwin during his proposal. “I have never had to fight for something so hard that I wanted so badly. I didn’t give up and I’m never gonna give up on us. You showed me how much I can rely on you, how much you support me, how much you love me and I realized at that moment that I could never love anyone as much as I love you.

“This is the end of Paradise, but it’s just the beginning of our story. I didn’t come here to spend my summer with you, but I came here to spend my life with you and I’m ready for that to start now.”

Godwin said yes to Barbour’s proposal and the couple got engaged on the beach in Mexico.

Where is he now?

Post BIP, Barbour and Godwin are still together. They celebrated their engagement anniversary in June 2019.

“Happy one year anniversary to me telling you how f’d you are for agreeing to marry me,” Barbour wrote jokingly on Instagram.

The couple have paused wedding planning for the time being due to the Covid-19 pandemic, as Godwin explained in an interview with Us Weekly.

“For now, I’m Pinterest boarding it and saving photos and we’re talking about it and getting excited about it,” she said. “But I think that’ll just make it even more special when we’re able to actually have our big, fun day.”

Godwin said she and Barbour are happy with taking things slow.

“I think we are just loving being engaged,” she said. “We definitely want to make the next step and we’re ready, but I don’t think we’re rushing into it too much for now.”

While Godwin lives in Los Angeles and Barbour lives in San Diego, they have been quarantining together in San Diego. Barbour shared that they bought a house together in a tweet on Oct. 29, 2020.

Barbour is still close with many fellow members of Bachelor Nation. His engagement party in February 2020 was attended by Peter Weber, Hannah Brown, Mike Johnson, Luke Stone, Heather Martin, Demi Burnett, Katie Morton, Matt Donald and Jed Wyatt.

Barbour is also staying busy on the quest to find his mom a boyfriend with Operation “Date Dylan’s Mom,” which he’s documenting on his Instagram.
