ABOUT ANNE MARIE CUMMINGS:
Anne Marie Cummings was born in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Her father is American and her mother is from Spain (Sevilla). She is a graduate of Carnegie Mellon University’s drama program and after being involved in the theatre most of her adult life (as an actress, director, writer, artistic director, and producer) she moved to Los Angeles (2016) to explore television and film (Immediate Vision Productions).
As a theatre actress, Anne Marie has worked with Tony-award winning director Doug Hughes and other reputable directors such as Anne Bogart, Michael Wilson, Gregory Boyd, and Edward Payson Call. As a playwright, her play, “India Awaiting” ran Off-Broadway at the Samuel Beckett Theatre (starring Maulik Pancholy of “30 Rock”). Other plays include “Extremes” (Michael Cullen from “Dead Man Walking”), “Purgatory Row” (Kate Buddeke, “Payback”), “Touche!,” “Sinkhole,” and “Soul Mates.”
Anne Marie was the Founder and Artistic Director of The Readers’ Theatre of Ithaca where she directed modern plays (in an avant-garde fashion) such as: “Wrecks” and “Fat Pig” by Neil LaBute; “Detroit” by Lisa D’Amour; “Frozen” by Bryony Lavery; and “Art” and “God of Carnage” by Yasmina Reza.
Anne Marie also worked as a journalist and photographer for the Gannett Company (the largest U.S. newspaper publisher) bringing a touch of theatre to her popular column, “Instant Message,” an uncensored column (written in a monologue format) where teens spoke frankly about a profound, life-changing moment in their lives.
Anne Marie was an Art Producer at Serino Coyne Advertising and worked with award-winning Creative Director, Bridget de Socio developing art for Broadway ad campaigns from “The Producers” to “Cabaret.”
On the side, Anne Marie teaches yoga and meditation, she draws, and proudly fosters a baby elephant, named Rapa, with The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust in Nairobi, Kenya.
