Amanda Bynes has made her OnlyFans debut, but says she’s keeping it clean and focused on fan connection and not posting “not safe for work” content.
Amanda Bynes is stepping back into the spotlight with a surprising — but very intentional — move. The former Nickelodeon star revealed on Instagram that she has joined OnlyFans, but made it clear her page will be far from explicit.
“I’m on onlyfans now!” Amanda Bynes announced in her Instagram Story. “Disclaimer: I’m doing onlyfans to chat with my fans through dm’s. I won’t be posting any sleazy content. Excited to join.”
While OnlyFans is widely known for hosting NSFW content and adult entertainers, several celebrities — including Bella Thorne and The Sopranos alum Drea de Matteo — have taken to the platform for a variety of purposes. On OnlyFans, creators earn money from users who pay for monthly access to exclusive content, often tailored to their personal brand.
For Amanda Bynes, the move seems more like an effort to reconnect with her fanbase than a rebrand into adult content. The 39-year-old star of The Amanda Show, Hairspray, and What a Girl Wants has largely stayed out of the public eye in recent years, though she briefly returned with a podcast project in late 2023. That show, co-hosted with her friend and biochemist Paul Sieminski, only released one episode featuring tattoo artist Dahlia Moth before going quiet.
At the time, Amanda Bynes had teased plans to “interview our friends” and eventually branch out to mainstream celebrity and artist interviews. Though that podcast didn’t last, it marked a small step back into the entertainment space after more than a decade of personal challenges and public scrutiny.
Amanda Bynes’ last on-screen acting credit was in 2010’s Easy A. Since then, she’s battled mental health issues and legal troubles, including a 2013 psychiatric hold that led to her mother being granted conservatorship — which lasted until 2022. She was reportedly placed on another 72-hour psychiatric hold in 2023, after skipping an appearance at 90s Con.
Despite the ups and downs, former co-stars like Drake Bell and Josh Peck continue to speak fondly of her. During a recent episode of Josh Peck’s Good Guys podcast, Drake Bell reminisced about Amanda Bynes‘ comedic genius and charisma, comparing her to Jennifer Aniston’s iconic Friends character Rachel Green and comedy legends like Carol Burnett and Tracey Ullman.
“She was the biggest thing on the planet to me,” Drake Bell said. “All I’ve ever experienced with Amanda was just like this dynamite force of nature when it comes to talent.”
The duo shared that they’ve sporadically kept in touch over the years, with Bell reconnecting via text in 2017 and Josh Peck saying he runs into Amanda Bynes “every two to three years.”
Now, Amanda Bynes is ready to engage with her fans again — on her own terms. Her OnlyFans might not feature the typical content the platform is known for, but it could offer a rare, personal connection to a star many still root for.
