You, starring Penn Badgley as Joe Goldberg, has grown so much popularity in the media recently with its new release of season three. Over the season’s Joe has had many obsessions and we’re breaking them all down!

You’s main character Joe Goldberg, portrayed by Penn Badgley, has the tendency to gain a strong obsession with specific women in the show. Let’s take a look at everyone Joe Goldberg has been obsessed with!
Beck
Starting with season one, we have Beck, played by Elizabeth Lail. Joe meets her in the library he works at and quickly becomes intrigued by her. He stalks her till he knows everything about her and eventually the two get romantically involved which quickly goes downhill once Beck realizes Joe is not the nice guy she picked him out to be. When Joe figures out she knows how dark he is, he traps and eventually kills her. Joe gets away with it by framing her therapist who she cheated on him with.
Candace Stone
Candace Stone, played by Ambyr Childers, is Joe’s first love. In season one she appeared in several flashbacks. Joe “killed” her when he found out she was going to leave him for another man. In season two it becomes clear that she survived his brutal attack, her one goal is to warn Joe’s new obsession, Love, and come forward to the police, but Love ends up killing Candace. Talk about a plot twist!
Love Quinn
Love Quinn, played by Victoria Pedretti, meets Joe when he moves to LA and starts working at a book cafe in season 2. As the season moves forward, and Joe’s obsession grows, the audience realizes that she is just as twisted. After killing Candace and another character, Delilah, she confesses that she is pregnant. Joe and Love move again to start over, as a family this time. The two quickly fall into old patterns leading to Love dying at the hands of her husband.
Natalie Engler
Natalie Engler, whom Michaela McManus plays, is Joe and Loves’ next store neighbor at their new house. In the very first episode, Joe starts having an affair with her. As anyone feels when they find out they’ve been cheated on, Love was angry. However, instead of talking to Joe about it, Love removes Natalie as a threat by killing her. The rest of season three revolves around the two covering that murder up, and of course, a lot of couples therapy.
Marianne
While Joe and Love’s marriage continues to fall apart, Joe finds comfort in his coworker at the library, Marianne. Marianne, played by Tati Gabrielle, is a single mother in the middle of a custody battle with her toxic, but well-liked, ex. Joe starts falling for her and eventually starts another affair. When Love finds out she again tries to kill her but is stopped when Marianne’s kid walks in. The season ends with Marianne leaving town and Joe on a mission to find her.
