Starring Lily James and Sebastian Stan, the series Pam & Tommy recounts one of the most famous celebrity relationships of all time and is causing just as much controversy as the relationship itself!
The highly-anticipated Pam & Tommy officially aired February 2nd of this year on Hulu. The series recounting the relationship and marriage of the Motley Crue drummer and the Baywatch starlet and their infamous honeymoon sex tape has been high-profile for fans since photos of Lily James’ shocking makeup and prosthetics surfaced early last year, but her jaw-dropping transformation into Pamela Anderson isn’t the only thing stirring conversation about the show.
Pam & Tommy features an all-star cast, starring Lily James as Pamela Anderson, Sebastian Stan as Tommy Lee, Seth Rogen as Rand Gauthier and Nick Offerman as Uncle Miltie. The plot of the show switches back and forth between the timeline of their relationship and recounting how their sex tape was sold and distributed to the masses.

It’s been clear since the conception of the show that Pamela Anderson was not in favor of it the Baywatch star said early on in the show’s production that she did not want it to be made in the first place. A source close to Pamela told Entertainment Tonight that “it is shocking that this series is allowed to happen without her approval,” and hurtful to Anderson and “anyone who loves her.”
Its been suspected (and was Pam’s fear) that the show would romanticize or glorify Lee and Anderson’s relationship. For this reason, many people are choosing to boycott the series entirely and questions have been raised about who can retell a story about exploitation.

TikToker and InStyle correspondent Tefi Pessoa recently posted a TikTok series discussing Pamela, Tommy and their relationship in light of the series airing its first three episodes last week. Tefi discussed Tommy’s domestic abuse charges as well as the exploitation of Pamela Anderson and was met with opposition from Lee’s current wife Brittany Furlan. Furlan said she was hurt by Tefi’s TikToks about her family, claiming they were mutuals on the site. Tefi has since taken down the videos referencing Brittany but the rest of her series on Pam and Tommy remain uploaded.
