Chucky the killer doll is a horror icon, standing toe to toe with Friday the 13th’s Jason Voorhees and A Nightmare on Elm Street’s Freddy Krueger in terms of popularity. With eight films under his belt and an ongoing series on SYFY, we figured it was the most appropriate time to give this “good guy” a proper ranking of his movies.

Who knew old dolls could learn new tricks? Chucky is back to terrorizing Nica from the previous installment, Curse of Chucky. This time he finds himself scaring the inhabitants of an insane asylum, whose pleas for help against a killer doll are disregarded by all of those around them. Chucky has not only gotten more creative with his killing but his voodoo as well, possessing multiple dolls and even people all at once to dial the bloodshed all the way to 11. Blending the heart of the films before it and moving the Chucky story in new directions, Cult of Chucky wears the crown featuring a 5.3 rating on IMDb and a 78% on Rotten Tomatoes.
Curse of Chucky

Featuring a new set of victims to terrorize, Curse of Chucky brought the horror back to the series and did it well. Chucky switches it up this time around. Instead of targeting the young Andy Barclay, Chucky sets his sights on the wheelchair-bound Nica and her family. The scares are immense, the tension is always present, and boy oh boy is there gore in this one. For Chucky’s entry into a new generation of horror, Curse of Chucky earned a 75% on Rotten Tomatoes and a 5.6 rating on IMDb.
Child’s Play (1988)

The classic! Before The Conjuring’s Annabelle, this was the go to movie to see a creepy doll in action. Featuring groundbreaking leaps in animatronics, Child’s Play showed moviegoers that you didn’t need elaborate things like finger knives or acidic blood to be a menacing threat, you just needed some deception and to gaslight a six-year-old boy to scare and unsettle people (who knew?). With all that in mind, the original Child’s Play sits on the list with a 6.7 on IMDb and a 73% on Rotten Tomatoes.
Child’s Play (2019)

Doing away with the voodoo of the previous installments, Child’s Play (2019) reboots the series and Chucky, giving him a tech upgrade. Chucky can now control pretty much anything electronic, ranging from lawnmowers, drones, and even thermostats. Bringing some star power to the series, Jedi Knight and professional voice actor, Mark Hamil lends his voice to the killer doll this time around while Aubrey Plaza plays a single mom who definitely got her son the wrong toy for his birthday. Child’s Play sits at number 4 with a 63% on Rotten Tomatoes and a 5.7 rating on IMDb
Bride of Chucky

Jennifer Tilly! After three films what could’ve been next for a homicidal killer doll? Why marriage of course! Chucky and his doll girlfriend Tiffany decide to tie the knot and get hitched (and spill some blood along the way of course). Trying out something new each installment is a huge part of why the Chucky franchise has thrived for so long. Chucky and his betrothed went on to score a 5.6 on IMBd and a 48% on Rotten Tomatoes.
Child’s Play 2

Chucky’s back after some corporate ignorance lets him get a new body to go back to terrorizing Andy Barclay, the protagonist of the first film. This time Andy is in foster care due to the events of the first movie but luckily for Andy, he has a cool as-hell foster sister now who can help him send this evil toy back to hell where it belongs. With an awesome climax and the scariest Chucky has been so far, Child’s Play 2 possesses a 5.9 on IMDb and a 40% on Rotten Tomatoes.
Seed of Chucky

One of the most progressive movies of its time, Seed of Chucky proudly has a gender-fluid character, Glen/Glenda who is the spawn of Tiffany and Chucky. The only problem is Glen/Glenda doesn’t exactly wanna go into the family business of murdering people, which causes some familial tension. Chucky’s one-liners are at max settings this time around and who could forget the cameo appearance of rapper Redman? Chucky’s venture into fatherhood reaches a 4.9 on IMBd and a 34% on Rotten Tomatoes.

Gosh, this doll doesn’t know when to quit! Capping off the Child’s Play trilogy, Child’s Play 3 gives Chucky a new hunting ground with fresh victims: military school! Armed with trickery and grenades, Chucky is back to making Andy’s life a living hell. Fortunately for Andy, this isn’t the first time he’s had to deal with Chucky. He now knows the best ways to take this ‘good guy’ down, showing off his Chucky-stopping prowess with the help of other military school cadets. After scoring a 21% on Rotten Tomatoes and a 5.2 on IMDb, the series lay dormant for a couple of years. However, Chucky has made sure to come back time and time again to entertain and terrorize which is why we can’t get enough of him.
