As soon as Louder started working on the film, she knew this was going to be a one-of-a-kind movie.
“The first thing I thought was this script is so much fun. All the puns were in there, and you get the feeling of the type of Santa that they wanted. David Harbour brought this jolly man that’s been down trotted by society. Explained Louder. “I thought this was a nice aspect of a Christmas movie because you always see Santa so magical and kind of inhuman, but this Santa has feelings.”
Violent Night stars an ensemble cast including David Harbour, John Leguizamo, and Beverly D’Angelo. Louder says working with the cast made her experience one to remember.
“It was just a fun group of people. I got to hang with Leah Brady offset, where we would get manicures and go to museums with her mom. It was a great way to build that relationship as mother and daughter and make sure she felt included in this filming process.”
When it comes to a sequel, Louder says she is on board and already has an idea of the potential next film.
“Maybe we do kind of a Nightmare Before Christmas flip where like, Santa comes around Halloween to save the day again.”
Violent Night isn’t the only project fans can catch Louder on. She has a TV show coming out in the Spring that she can’t wait for people to see.
“It will be on Apple TV+, it’s called The Changeling, and I’m excited about this because it’s based on the novel by Victor LaBelle. There’s a little more detail in this show than in the book, which is rare. I’m excited for people to jump into this show because even if you read the book, you’re going to get a whole new viewpoint on these characters.”
Violent Night is now available to watch at home on PVOD.
