Alexe Godin Missed The Bachelor Date Due to Concussion

Alexe Godin’s absence from a key moment on The Bachelor wasn’t just clever editing—it turns out she had a legitimate reason for missing out.

“For everyone asking why I wasn’t there on the date: I was concussed so I went to bed early,” Alexe, 27, shared on her Instagram Story on February 18. The post, which featured a selfie of the reality star looking less than thrilled, shed light on her unexpected absence during this week’s episode.

The February 17 episode saw Alexe and seven other women competing for Grant Ellis’ affection on a group date in Madrid, which included a donkey ride and a mechanical bull challenge. Alexe, ever the competitor, grabbed the bull by its horns—literally—which may explain her injury.

Although she initially appeared at the cocktail party with the group, she was noticeably absent later in the evening, missing out on one-on-one time with Grant. However, the episode focused heavily on drama between Carolina Quixano and the other women, particularly Juliana Pasquarosa, meaning Alexe’s interactions may have simply been left on the cutting room floor.

Despite the setback, Alexe returned for the rose ceremony and secured a spot for another week. Meanwhile, Parisa Shifteh and Natalie Phillips were eliminated, and Rose Sombke voluntarily bowed out after ongoing drama with Carolina impacted her relationship with Grant.

Alexe has been a frontrunner since the premiere, winning Grant’s first impression rose after introducing him to her “no drama llama.” Their connection deepened when she scored the season’s first one-on-one date, where Grant impressed her with an original piano performance.

Reflecting on their instant chemistry, Grant, 31, told Us Weekly in January, “Our chemistry was there. It’s pretty evident that we were, you know, going back and forth—we’re laughing, we’re joking, we’re having fun, and she made me laugh. A lot of the women I laugh with, but there was something about that first night that from the llama to our sense of humor and it was a combination of things that made me give out that rose [to Alexe].”

During their one-on-one date, Alexe opened up about her past, revealing her desire for a supportive partner. “I am feeling over the moon, honestly. This was like the best date of my entire life,” she gushed in a confessional. “I do think that my love journey with Grant is so beautiful, and this is a very special moment.”

With emotions running high and connections strengthening, Alexe’s concussion may have taken her out of the action briefly, but she’s still very much in the game.

The Bachelor airs Mondays at 8 p.m. on ABC.
