ABC’s AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. – Season 7 – Episode 2 – Know Your Onions
Following the explosive premiere episode of Season 7, ABC’s AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. – Season 7 – Episode 2 – Know Your Onions – picks up in the 30’s where the previous episode left off. Lady in red is shot and at the Koenig speak easy, Deke and Mac babysitting the future founder of Hydra Freddy Malick. May waking up not quite herself, and the Chronicom police impersonators on their heels. The “lady in red” needs Yo Yo, Simmons, and discretion as they do surgery to save her life. The team almost gets found out as the Chronicom police search the speakeasy but thankfully the cops are called away. Deke and Mac stay with Freddy even though he tries to give them the slip. He is delivering the super serum which will be the beginning of Hydra, who we need to protect in order for the timeline to proceed properly. Daisy finds out who Freddy really is and tells Deke to kill him, luckily Mac and cooler heads prevail. Freddy’s death could have destroyed the world, which Quake has already done. May is feeling out of it, she has most of her memory except for why or how she got here and the ship is counting down for the next time jump. All aboard to the next time tide, except for Enoch who is left behind.
ABC’s AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. – Season 7 – Episode 3 – Alien Commies from the Future! – jumps ahead 20 years to the industrial 50’s. The Chromicoms have infiltrated NASA to gain control of Project Helius, an experimental new weapon. To find out, the team goes undercover, using the cover of the 50’s Simmons takes on the persona of Agent Peggy Carter. Alongside Coulson, Simmons they are searching for the Chromicoms and take one hostage. In their investigation they run into the wrong person for the Carter persona, Agent Daniel Souza from Agent Carter. If one person knows Peggy, its Captain America…but after him its Souza. Souza gives chase catching up to Simmons and Coulson. Since its the 50’s everyone is a “commie”. May and Yo Yo are having hard times adjusting and are both off their game. May, with her feeling of something wrong and Yo Yo, who’s powers arent working right. This creates a problem as Yo Yo and May have to fight the Chromicoms, but finally overcome and win the fight. Coulson the LMD is short circuited, maybe he has died…again.
ABC’s AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. – Season 7 – Episode 4 – Out of the Past – we learn of Souza’s death, face first, bleeding in a pool. Souza was the first Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. to die in the line of duty. This brings up talk of Coulson’s death inspiring the Avengers. Everything is in Black and White as Coulson is featured in a film noire inspired episode, as he sees everything now in Black and White. Another train ride as Yo Yo and Deke meet up with Coulson has convinced Souza he is part of the secret team meeting up with Stark, not Tony but Howard. We are still in the 50s. Souza has a theory that HYDRA has infiltrated S.H.I.E.L.D. which is very forward thinking. The team knows an assassin will kill Souza and decide to save Souza despite it being a bad idea. Freddy Malick is full force Hydra bad guy. They fake Souza’s death, hopefully leaving the timeline in tact. Enoch, is still at the Koenig bar. They use him as an operator. Humorous deadpan scene. Meanwhile, the Chromicoms also decide to mess with the timeline as they reveal themselves to Malick and convince him to team up. The evil forces have combined. The time tide is changing. Next stop. The 70s.
