Adam Sandler Returns in Happy Gilmore 2 Trailer

Adam Sandler is back in action on the golf course in the official trailer for Happy Gilmore 2. The trailer also reveals that the long-awaited comedy sequel will begin streaming on Netflix starting July 25.

Netflix is keeping plot details tightly under wraps, with the film’s official logline simply stating: “Happy Gilmore is back!” However, the trailer gives fans a glimpse of Sandler’s character facing off against PGA heavyweights, battling self-doubt, and ultimately returning to the course with renewed confidence—sparking plenty of chaos along the way.

Adam Sandler is joined by a star-studded ensemble of returning favorites and fresh faces. Julie Bowen, Christopher McDonald, and Ben Stiller reprise their roles, while newcomers include Bad Bunny, NFL superstar Travis Kelce, and Adam Sandler’s own daughters, Sadie and Sunny. Real-life pro golfers such as John Daly, Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy, Bryson DeChambeau, and others are also featured.

Adam Sandler previously teased Happy Gilmore 2 during an appearance on The Tonight Show, emphasizing how much effort went into perfecting the script: “It’s good. We worked hard on the script. We didn’t want to let anybody down. People have been asking me for a long time. We’re really excited about it. We wrote our asses off. So many of the golfers are being nice and will be a part of it.”

Travis Kelce, who has been steadily growing his acting résumé with appearances in Ryan Murphy’s FX series Grotesquerie and the upcoming Lionsgate action-comedy Loose Cannons, revealed on his podcast last May that he would do anything to appear in the sequel. Adam Sandler confirmed Travis Kelce’s involvement, praising him by saying: “Travis has… he mentioned it, so we have a nice something for Travis. He’s gonna come by. He’s a very nice guy. You guys would love him in real life. What a big, handsome guy. Funny and cool as hell. He’s a stud and he’s so funny.”

The film is directed by Kyle Newacheck, who previously worked with Adam Sandler on Netflix’s Murder Mystery. Adam Sandler co-wrote the sequel with Tim Herlihy, who also penned the original, and original director Dennis Dugan returns as an executive producer.

Fans can watch the official Happy Gilmore 2 trailer below and mark their calendars for the film’s streaming debut on Netflix on July 25.
