In honor of women’s history month, here are some films and shows to look forward to that were made by women behind the scenes.
Women have long fought the battle for equity in Hollywood–in 2020, a record high number of top 250 grossing films were directed by women. But in 2021, that number regressed, down to just 17%. In 2022, women directors are pushing to break the barrier once again. Here are seven female led projects coming this year.

The Dropout – Created by Elizabeth Merriweather
The new Hulu miniseries follows the rise and fall of Elizabeth Holmes and her company Theranos. Holmes is embroiled in an ongoing trial for multiple counts of fraud, for which her max sentencing could be up to 20 years in prison. Amanda Seyfried stars as Holmes in this fascinating story, which began its release on March 3rd.
I Wanna Dance With Somebody – Directed by Kasi Lemmons
