6 Star Studded Netflix Original Rom-Com Holiday Movies!

Every holiday season Netflix releases numerous rom-com holiday movies. Let’s look at some of their more star-studded ones.

In recent years, Netflix has been releasing more rom-com holiday movies with well-known celebrities which entices viewers to want to tune into them more. Here are a few celebrities you might have heard of appearing in a holiday rom-com movie that everyone can enjoy this holiday season!

The Princess Switch (2018)

The movie follows a duchess who switches places with an ordinary woman from Chicago one week before Christmas. The two look just like each other and fall for each other’s love interests along the way. Vanessa Hudgens stars as the two leads, Stacey De Novo and Lady Margaret Delacourt. Hudgens had mainstream success when landing the role of Gabriella Montez in the popular Disney Channel film series, High School Musical. She received a recording contract from Hollywood Records and released two studio albums. Hudgens later produced the next two Princess Switch movies that were released on Netflix.

Holidate (2020)

The story centers on two strangers who have had enough of being single during the holidays and agree to be each other’s platonic ones all year. As they spend more time together they start to catch real feelings for one another. This movie has two big celebrities starring Emma Roberts as the main character, Sloane Benson, and Kristen Chenoweth as Aunt Susan. Roberts has gained major recognition for her roles in the popular horror series, American Horror Story and as Chanel Oberlin in the TV series, Scream Queens. Chenoweth is an Emmy and Tony Winner, most known for originating the role of Glinda in the musical, Wicked.

Love Hard (2021)

The film centers on an LA writer who thinks she has found her perfect match on a dating app, but it turns out she has been catfished after flying 3,000 miles to surprise him for Christmas. Nina Dobrev stars as Natalie Bauer, additionally, her co-stars include Jimmy O. Yang as Josh Lin and Darren Barnet as Tag. Dobrev rose to prominence in the hit teen television series, Vampire Diaries for her portrayal as Elena Gilbert. Her biggest commercial success was the movie, XXX: Return of Xander Cage where she starred alongside Vin Diesel.

Single All The Way (2021)

After being pressured by his family about being single all the time, Peter convinces his best friend, Nick to pretend to be his boyfriend on a trip back home for the holidays. Michael Urie, best known for his role in the television series, Ugly Betty, plays Peter. Some other big names in the cast are Golden Globe and Emmy winner Jennifer Coolidge as Aunt Sandy and Kathy Najimy who is widely known for her role as one of the infamous Sanderson sisters in the Disney film Hocus Pocus.

A Castle For Christmas (2021)

This story is about a bestselling author who journeys to Scotland after a major scandal occurs, she begins to fall in love with the castle she is at but has to face the grumpy duke who owns it. Two big stars lead this film including Brooke Shields who plays Sophie Brown and Carly Elwes as Myles, 12th Duke of Dunbar. Brooke Shields is a well-known actress who first modeled in her teen years and started to act in dramas such as Blue Lagoon and Endless Love. Carly Elwes is most known for starring in the cult film, The Princess Bride and the popular horror film series, Saw.

Falling For Christmas (2022)

The film focuses on a newly engaged heiress who is in a skiing accident a few days before Christmas. She finds herself being cared for by a handsome cabin owner and his daughter after forgetting who she really is. Lindsay Lohan leads the cast as Sierra Belmont/Sarah alongside her are Jack Wagner who plays Beauregard Belmont and Chord Overstreet as Jake Russell. Lohan rose to child stardom when she first starred in the remake of Disney’s Parent Trap and furthered her career as a teen idol when she appeared in the cult classic, Mean Girls. She starred in this original after signing a multi-picture deal with Netflix!
