5 Throwback 90s Movies to Watch This Valentine’s Day

If you’re looking for something special to watch this Valentine’s Day with the favorite people in your life, then check out these awesome throwback movies from the 90s!

Valentine’s Day is the perfect time to cozy up with the people you love and watch a movie, so grab your significant other, your besties, your family, or your ex if you’re brave, and settle down for one of these five throwback films that will make your Valentine’s Day special!

10 Things I Hate About You

This movie has a perfect double dose of relationships with Kat and Bianca’s sisterly bond and both sisters’ romantic lives (or lack thereof, thanks to their father) This movie has an awesome headstrong main character and has all the bells and whistles of a classic rom-com with big romantic gestures, a school dance, and ulterior motives. Watch this movie on Disney+.

Clueless

Round up all your besties and throw on this silly feel-good movie to celebrate Galentine’s day. Not only is this rom-com funny, but Paul Rudd is super cute and somehow looks exactly the same today. Bonus points if you all dress up as characters from the film because somehow, despite being thirty years old, the fashion seems to transcend time to be iconic today. Stream this film on Amazon Prime or Paramount+.

You’ve Got Mail

If you want a romance movie that’s a little more mature than the other ones on this list, You’ve Got Mail is perfect. Set in the workplace rather than in high school, this movie is perfect if you want a main character with bills to pay and dial-up. Be warned though; this movie may make you sad about inflation because Starbucks in this film is only $2.95 for a tall decaf cappuccino. This movie is available to stream on HBO Max.

She’s All That

This movie, which was actually written by the thriller icon M. Night Shyamalan, is perfect if you want a rom-com with a twist at the end. Set in high school, this classic film has the stereotypical jock going after the unattractive girl in school thanks to a bet, complete with a 180 transformation. Check out this movie on HBO Max.

William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet

This classic movie featuring young Leonardo DiCaprio is a Valentine’s Day classic, perfect for throwing popcorn at the screen and laughing at the irony of the main characters. This movie is also perfect for date night because the storyline is familiar enough that even if you miss a little bit by kissing your S/O, you won’t be totally lost when you remember the movie is still playing. Stream it on HBO Max.
