Olivia Jade opened up on Red Table Talk about her college scandal as well as other things. Here are 5 things we learned about her.
Olivia Jade is speaking about her family’s involvement in the college admissions scandal for the first time. She sat down the Jada Pinkett Smith, Willow Smith, and Adrienne Banfield-Norris to discuss what she did and learned from this experience.
Olivia is apologizing and admits to her and her family’s mistakes and wrongdoings. She says that there is no justifying and excusing what happened; it was wrong. She goes on to explain that she couldn’t speak about it until now because of the legality of the case.
She admits it’s been hard for her parents to be in prison but that it is necessary for everyone to move on. They have been there for a few weeks, and haven’t spoken to either of them. She shares that there is a quarantine period in prison which is what she is contributing to not hearing from them.
Surprisingly Olivia wasn’t upset and angry at her parents when she first found out about the College Admission Scandal. She admits she was ignorant and didn’t realize it was wrong as she grew up in a bubble with people like her, whose parents did the same thing. She didn’t realize when it happened that that was a privilege and was wrong.
After learning about what took place, she now wants to give back and help others. She volunteered at a local after school program and saw how much it meant to the young kids to have a safe space to go and do homework after school. Olivia says she doesn’t want to just throw money at a problem. She is starting and learning about it as she wants to invest herself.
Olivia wants to learn from her mistakes and be given a second chance. She is only 21 and recognizes she messed up and wants to be able to move on.
