Venom: The Last Dance

Following the previous two Venom films, Venom 2018, and Venom: Let There Be Carnage, we will be getting yet another to add to the series. Once again starring Tom Hardy, best known from movies such as Mad Max: Fury Road, and The Dark Knight Rises, as Eddie Brock. Fans and critics are curious what to expect after the last two films, and the extreme events that took place. With the current death of Carnage, and anticipation of the character Knull, high stakes and action are to be expected of Venom: The Last Dance, with its release date set to be October 25 of this year.

Sonic The Hedgehog 3

The third, but hopefully not the last movie in the live action Sonic the Hedgehog series is set to release later this year. Currently with a theatrical release date of December 20, fans await yet another fun filled adventure of Sonic, and his many friends like Tails and Knuckles. Jim Carrey, well known for films such as The Mask, Dumb and Dumber, and The Truman Show, is returning once again as the evil, but hilarious, Doctor Eggman. However, he will not be the only antagonist in this film, as there is a new threat, Shadow the Hedgehog, who will be voiced by Keanu Reeves, loved for his roles in The Matrix, Speed, and the John Wick franchise. Who knows how this live action video game adaptation will go this winter?

Moana 2

For Disney fans young and old all over the world, the wait for a sequel to the beloved 2016 film Moana is almost over. Returning to their roles, Auliʻi Cravalho, will again be playing Moana herself, and the widely loved star from the WWE, and films such as Black Adam, and the Jumanji franchise, Dwayne Johnson, will be returning as the voice of Maui. Fans can expect there to be action, adventure, and of course song and dance, in this sequel that has been greatly anticipated for eight years.

Joker: Folie à Deux

One of the most anticipated sequels coming at the end of 2024 is Joker: Folie à Deux, continuing the story from Joker 2019. Releasing the same day, October 4, exactly 5 years later, Joker: Folie à Deux, is going to show us the relationship between Arthur Fleck, the Joker, played by Joaquin Phoenix, and Harley Quinn, played by Lady Gaga. It is expected that the film will hold onto, and embrace the dark, serious tone of the first film, while adding the new, musical-like aspect to this film.

Gladiator II

At the top of this list we have a film that was a shock to many when it was announced, a sequel to the hit film by Ridley Scott, Gladiator. Gladiator II will be set after the events of the first film released in 2000. Sadly it will not star the fan favorite, Maximus, played by Russel Crowe, or Commodus, Joaquin Phoenix. Ridley Scott is returning to direct this sequel, nearly 25 years later, so fans are expecting the same feel and magic that Gladiator gave to the world of cinema. The release date for Gladiator II is set for November 22. This time around, the cinematic world of ancient Rome will feature Paul Mescal from Normal People, Pedro Pascal, from hits like Game of Thrones and the Last of Us show, and even the legendary Denzel Washington, who was in films like Training Day, and The Equalizer franchise.
