5 Reasons Why You Should be Watching ABC’s ‘Not Dead Yet’!

ABC’s new show Not Dead Yet has so much to love; we can’t get enough! Here are 5 reasons why you need to be watching.

Not Dead Yet is an American sitcom with a supernatural twist starring actress Gina Rodriguez (Nell Serrano), a journalist who is assigned to write obituaries and encounters the struggles of balancing paranormal forces and her personal life. If you like TV Shows like Ghost Whisperer with a comedic spin, perhaps you should watch an episode or two of this new show on ABC.

Familiar Faces

Gina Rodriguez is best known for her portrayal of Jane Villanueva on The CW’s Jane The Virgin. It is without a doubt that her portrayal of Nell in this new series totally challenges her as an actress, and she is doing a fantastic job! You may also recognize Hannah Simone from the hit TV show New Girl on Fox; she played Cece Parekh on the show. Another cast member you may have recognized would be Lauren Ash; you may have seen her on NBC’s Superstore as Dina Fox. What a truly diverse cast, we can’t wait to see if we get a second season!

Hilariously Heartwarming

Although this show is a sitcom, it has heartwarming moments, especially with the main character, Nell, who learns about how important it is to write an obituary. She becomes a voice for the dead, and we certainly see her evolution as a character throughout each episode. She really serves as a character that helps remind others that everyone should be remembered in their own way.

Based On a Book

This unique show is actually based on a book by Alexandra Potter called Confessions of a Forty-Something F**k Up. The book centers around a forty-something-year-old who works as a journalist and eventually writes obituaries who feels as if her life is not in the best shape. Within this new show, we do get supernatural and comedic qualities that keep you on your toes and will leave you waiting anxiously for the next episode.
