This modern-day love story drama isn’t like anything you have seen before. Taking place in a super high-tech South Korea, the show follows an app that allows people to see if there are people who like them in their general vicinity. The story focuses on a girl that falls into a love triangle, something the app causes a lot of. It was interesting to see how this futuristic version of finding love pans and how it might affect relationships.
My First Love
What do you do if your best friend turns into a potential boyfriend one day? My First Love is about Yun Tae-o who has been friends with Han Song-i since they were in elementary school and suddenly felt like he had to take care of Song-i after her father passed and she got evicted. During this time, he was conflicted on whether or not he had deeper feelings for her, constantly going back and forth. This show isn’t just a love story but a show that also talks about friendships and life hardships. This overall is a must-watch!
Start-Up
Start-Up is based on a big rivalry after two sisters were separated at a young age when their parents get a divorce. One stayed in Korea with her grandma and the other went off to the U.S. with their mom and new stepdad. The daughter that stayed with the grandma, Seo Dal-mi ends up joining a competition to create the best new start-up not knowing her sister Nam Do-San has also joined. The show follows their journey to reach the top and get their start-up team to win first place. Along the way, new and old relationships mend and others fall apart.
Nevertheless
This drama tells the story of two people who were strangers that met after the female lead Yoo Na-bi falls out of a toxic relationship. Park Jae-eon and her are both attracted to one another but are skeptical since they both had rocky relationships in the past. Nab-bi and Jae-eon are both students at Hongseo University’s Sculpture department so their paths cross often but their story has many ups and downs. It is definitely one that you should check out on Netflix!
A Love So Beautiful
This Highschool drama follows the story of Shin Sol-i, a girl who is in love with her classmate and constantly makes it known that she likes him but he gives no response. That is until she stops trying and he suddenly realizes that he likes the attention she gave him and starts to pursue her. The show is a slower love story that covers many years but is one that is for sure heartwarming.
