The film storms exclusively into theaters on June 20, 2025.
Reuniting Academy Award-winning director Danny Boyle with Academy Award–nominated writer Alex Garland, 28 Years Later picks up nearly three decades after the virus first escaped a biological weapons lab and plunged the world into chaos. Though the infected still roam, survivors have carved out new ways to exist under the shadow of a ruthlessly maintained quarantine.
At the heart of this latest story is a small group of survivors isolated on an island, protected from the mainland by a single, heavily guarded causeway. But when one of their own ventures beyond the safety of their enclave, he stumbles into a terrifying new reality—one where both the infected and the living have evolved in disturbing, unpredictable ways.
Produced by Andrew Macdonald, Peter Rice, Bernard Bellew, Danny Boyle, and Alex Garland, and executive produced by none other than 28 Days Later star Cillian Murphy, the film promises to dive even deeper into the brutal consequences of survival.
