14 TikTok Trends From The Pandemic We Will Never Forget!

Let’s take a look at a blast from the past and reminisce about the different TikTok trends we interacted with during the Pandemic in 2020!

Quarantine TikToks were IT and nobody can say otherwise! TikTok trends during the pandemic were blowing up like crazy and we have 14 of the most viral TikTok ones of 2020!

Supalonely

The dance trend to the song “Supalonely” by Benee was all over TikTok during the quarantine era. TikTok dancer Zoi Lerma (TikTokhandle @zoifishh) came up with this dance and posted to her TikTok saying “Not my usual content but this song was too catchy to not make a dance to LMAO🥺🥺 try it and tag me!!” The song and the dance blew up, as it became a very popular trend during the rough time we all had stuck inside.

@zoifishh not my usual content but this song was too catchy to not make a dance to LMAO🥺🥺 try it and tag me !! #foryou #foryour #foryoupage #foryourpage ♬ Supalonely (feat. Gus Dapperton) – BENEE

Head Clap Challenge

The “Head Clap Challenge” was so funny it had us all in tears from trying it ourselves, to watching other TikTokers do it. TikToker “@xChucklesx” posted a video with one person clapping her arms open and closed while he tried avoiding getting his head hit. He commented back to another individual stating that he was watching other clapping challenges and this intrusive idea came along. “What has the corona quarantine done to us 😂😂😂” someone else commented on the original post of the challenge.

@xchucklesx HAD TO STEP IT UP😂👏🏾🤣👏🏾😂👏🏾 @lifeasjosieharris #boredathome #fyp #fun #funny #comedy #harrishouse #clap ♬ HEAD CLAP CHALLENGE – xChucklesx

Famous Im the One

Out of all of the relationship TikTok trends out there, this one has to be one of the funniest and most iconic trends on the app. You could quite literally sit here scrolling through, watching these videos for hours. It is so comedic and will have you crying from laughing so hard at everyone’s personalization of this trend. The idea of this trend is for couples to switch roles as you sing along to the song. In the song, there is a male and a female part singing at different times; so the point of the trend is for the man to dress up in feminine clothes, and the girl does the same vice versa. Couples have even worn each other’s clothes such as their boyfriend’s football jerseys or trying to fit into their girlfriend’s dresses, etc. The whole trend within itself allows people to have a silly laugh and to just enjoy and appreciate life.

WAP

WAP was one of the most popular, long-lasting trends during the pandemic. Dancer/Choreographer Brian Esperon choreographed this dance and it became so big that Cardi B herself reposted his video and tried doing the dance as well! Tons of other famous TikTok stars and celebrities were also posting themselves dancing to this trend. Lots of non-dancers struggled: people dislocating their knees, getting major rug burns, etc. The whole TikTok world officially got a little sneak peek of what it’s like to be a dancer am I right?! Once this dance became more and more popular, there even became a lyrical version of WAP that Charlie D’Amelio posted on her page.

Check on it – Reggaeton Remix

This was another funky, fresh dance for people to learn in their down time. It was fun, a catchy remix, and it took a lot of stamina to dance it full out! These TikTok dances get more and more complex, but are super entertaining because most of the time they are choreographed by real dancers!

Ayy ladies

This was a comical trend that had people tricking their friends, family, and significant others to look like they are dancing with the other person. The trick was to tell them to go under the other person’s arm 4 times with their eyes closed, and without them looking you take your arm away and start to dance with them!

Bulletproof

A meme incorporated in a video! This is a trend where people would first write “You think you can hurt my feelings?”, then follow up with a fact about them that makes them quote on quote “bulletproof”; hence the song playing in the background.

Tap tap tap

Another fun dance to another catchy song! “Tap In” by Saweetie was a huge hit! On TikTok alone, the song had three million videos; most of them being the trending dance! A girl named Lesley Gonzalez (TikTok handle: @yodamnmomma) choreographed this dance and had everyone hopping on the bandwagon including Addison Rae, Charlie D’Amelio, James Charles, Noah Beck, and more!

Out The Frame – Marv Allen

Who remembers the badwiggies?? Because Miss Pink Wiggette Julie Sofia made this dance trend and posted it with her friends on their “@badwiggies” account back in 2020. This was a fun trend where people would just do this silly little dance for fun wherever they were. Nothing too different, but it was definitely iconic!

Laxed– @Jawsh_685

This song “Laxed (Siren beat) was made and produced by “Jawsh 685”. He was an ordinary kid who put his beat out on TikTok which blew up the app. Jason Derulo took interest in the catchy beat and made this kid famous by putting his lyrics on top of the music– in which Derulo made a hit single “savage love”. The dance consists of easy movements such as touching one shoulder, then the other, putting your hand up, and swaying your hips. This dance may be pretty self-explanatory, but the song is super catchy, and the movements groove right along with the music which made this a fun trend to do and to watch!

Boo!

During the time this trend blew up on tiktok, there was also a trend where everyone was playing the game Among us. The TikTok trend was to use the “Time Warp Scan” and you would freeze until the line went to the bottom of the screen, and the transition would be on the “boo!” part of the song, and it looks like you are coming out of the screen. Due to this trend being so big, the song “Boo!” was also turned into a remix and the sound was used for another TikTok trend. The “Out of Body” filter was used and when the song said “b*tch im a ghost” you would go out of your frozen body and when the beat drops, you go back into it.

Say So

In early 2020, the TikTok dance to Doja Cat’s new song “Say So” became very popular. TikToker Haley Sharp choreographed this dance. Yes, lots of TikTok trends get big and the artists to the songs acknowledge them, and also try out the trend… But this one was on another level because Doja Cat even incorporated Sharp’s dance in the official music video!

Shake it

Dancer Matthew King (also known as Little Durag) made a dance to this song with a friend that became very popular very quickly. The dance and the song give a rush of serotonin every time you watch it! This became so popular that it continued on as TikToker’s wanted more and more of this content. People would comment on his Tiktoks to do it at 60 percent, 110 percent, underwater, 20% cry, 80% dance, etc. The challenges were getting more and more complex and King delivered every single time! Others took this trend as an opportunity to do a fun little dance with their friends!

@littledurag okay maybe i miss this dance just a little 🤣🙂 #fyp #foryou #ROMWEnextgen #dance ♬ Shake It – Metro Station

Savage Remix

We will definitely never forget this trend! This dance was made by Keara Wilson. It became so well-liked that it was one of the hottest trends of the year! The biggest TikTok stars would continuously post themselves doing this dance. Everyone at least once had this on their for you page; even if they were on a different side of TikTok!
