In honor of the Dance Moms cast announcing their 2024 reunion, let’s celebrate by looking back at some of the show’s quotes that are irreplaceable!
On November 1st, Dance Moms fans were resurrected after hearing the cast announce their 2024 reunion! The reality TV series followed a team of young competition dancers from Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, all throughout their childhood to stardom. However, the seasons were most notable for their demanding instructor, Abby Lee Miller, and her clashes among the mothers who would fight to the end for their daughter’s success. The series is full of memorable quotes – from the dancer’s cute comments to their mother’s sarcastic remarks.
“You’re entitled to your wrong opinion. That’s fine” – Holly Frazier (Season 3, Episode 11)
Holly always had the best comebacks, especially when defending her daughter. Jill scheduled a private lesson for Kendall to get extra practice for her duet with Nia. Holly then accused Jill of attempting to have her daughter outshine Nia. While Jill disagreed, Holly confirmed that her opinion was correct.
“You’re skinny, you’re blond, you’re pretty. You’re telling me that no one at school hates you.”
– Abbe Lee Miller (Season 3 Episode 22)
Abby awarded Paige the solo entitled “Get Up, Get Loud, Get Tough” to encourage the dancer to handle critique. She warned the dancer of inevitable “haters” because of her appearance. Perhaps Paige could apply the lessons from the dance to her dance teacher.
“I just cry sometimes, it’s no big deal.” – Mackenzie Ziegler (Season 1, Episode 12)
What quote changed your life here’s mine it’s from a 6-year-old on Dance Moms pic.twitter.com/kAnyapohTN

At age six, Mackenzie was already a relatable queen. As the youngest member of the ALDC, she struggled to keep up with the older girls. The dancer began crying during a music video audition in Los Angeles because the choreography was a bit overwhelming. But clearly, she brushed it off quickly.
“They look like Prostitots” – Christi Zook Lukasiak (S1 ep. 13)
Kinda reminds me of an iconic Dance Moms moment. Like even the costumes remind me of that dance. https://t.co/JT9BlDr6pH pic.twitter.com/Oi5OgR0BFu

Abby provides the dancers with costumes that are a bit “too mature” and revealing for their age. While the mothers are uncomfortable, they ultimately have no power against the dance teacher. Chloe’s mom, Christi, perfectly sums up each mother’s frustration in a clever yet disturbing play on words.
“I cut my finger on my mom’s ring, I hope I can still dance”
-Vivi-Anne Quinn Nesbitt-Stein (Season 2, Episode 2)
While the Candy Apples Dance Studio was the ALDC’s rival, we all had a special place for Cathy’s daughter Vivi-anne. During Vivi’s rehearsal, she pinky-promised her mother/instructor that she would “dance like she wanted to earn a puppy.” However, that promise went awry, earning Vivi a severe injury instead. Luckily, she recovered quickly and continued to dance…even though she never wanted to in the first place.
“I don’t like to lose, but I don’t ever lose anyway” – Maddie Ziegler (Season 1, Episode 4)
It’s no secret that Maddie was Abby’s favorite, helping Abby earn trophies and win championships. In this episode, Maddie goes head-to-head with Chloe, her biggest competitor on the team. Chloe places in fourth for her solo, and Maddie places first, once again. This proves her point that losing is not an option.
“Second is the first to lose” – Abby Lee Miller
Abby constantly pressured the kids with this mantra throughout each season. She hoped it would motivate the dancers never to settle for less than the best because “everyone is replaceable.”
“Nobody likes us, the two bitches are left.” – Kelly Hyland (Season 2, Episode 5)
@baerrys : “and then there were two.”
me: “i know. nobody likes us. the two bitches are left !” pic.twitter.com/Dfg078sp3c— you’re losing me. (@dumpsterdaddytm) May 26, 2020
Kelly and Christi were an iconic bestie duo on the show. They always stuck by each other’s side, even if that meant the other moms left theirs. While the two were left alone in the mezzanine, Christi famously said, “And then there were two.” This line is so iconic that the sound is a TikTok trend that the two moms recently recreated!
“Moms better have my money!” – Abby Lee Miller (Season 6, Episode 16)

— 👻COKEWHORE COUTURE😈 (@abbyleekilla) February 13, 2023
Abby Lee made her debut as Swaggy Lee with her hit parody of Rhianna’s song. During Hip-Hop week, Abby was absent during rehearsal. She shows up to the competition with a pink rhinestone hat, so she assumes all will be forgiven. But poor Jill is left confused about her money.
“Miss Abby says we need to blow the competition away, and I really hope she doesn’t mean literally, because we could get disqualified.” – Chloe Lukasiak (Season 2)
Abby incorporated fake hand-guns for the group dance that week. Chloe was concerned about her dance teacher’s goal, taking it a little too literally. However, the dancer never failed to blow us away with her incredible talent.
After eight years of competitions, confrontations, trophies, and tears, the curtain finally fell. However, these quotes remain timeless and prepare us for next year’s reunion, starring Chloe Lukasiak, Jojo Siwa, Kendall Vertes, Kelani Hilliker, and Brooke and Paige Hyland.
